CTX and Excal questions

Where do you have your Volume Gain set - to 30 max. or backed off. If backed off you might miss the weak ones. But I hit that area with my CTX too (days late but still some rocks and mud) and got zilch.

After about a yr of using my CTX and the 17" coil I put on the 11" When I first bought the CTX new I thought that the 11 must of been bad from stock or something because it was SO SO SO chatty. I put the 17 on and it seemed to clear up and hunted w/it ever since. Well I decided to try out the 11 today. Nice and slow sweeps... No chatter, no falsing.... I did really well.... No jewelry (that has no bearing on the greatness of the machine just that the beach didn't have the gold) but I did come up with ALOT of clad. I mean two handfuls. About 30 quarters, 20 dimes, 10 nickels and only about 15 pennies. All in 2 hrs.... Sun was getting hot and people were starting to crowd the beach so I gave up.... Not bad.. I'm glad that the 11" isn't messed up and it'll be my new water coil since its a PITA to swing the 17 in water.

Man, I've got the right detector, wrong beach - I've never found that many quarters in a day.
I'd say you are good to go!
