CTX 3030 PROBLEM FROM NEW

hi just bought a new ctx 3030 last week and just got it home in the mail today,,I put it all together charged the battery up and pushed the on button the main screen pops up and then nothing i have tried loads of times different ways but its just showing the main first page miners den want me to send it back and its going to be 2 to 3 weeks before i see another ,,,,this machine was never used span new,, can anybody shed some light on this ,,, this is the new up grade model lol ,,,,,,i had lived in singapore for 7 years and malaysia and seen they way things are done there and things are poorly made this machine should not be made there it should be made in the usa most electronics i bought there either broke down in three to six months or after a week like a tv had to be exchanged so this is a fine example and would not have bought if none ???? has anybody a fix for this machine so i dont have to send it back to miners den thanks ;-))

Whoever you bought if from should immediately change it out for you once it is determined to be faulty. If you didn't buy it from an authorized Minelab dealer, it may have been a Chinese fake. You can check the later via serial number with Minelab.

Why 2-3 weeks to send you another machine? Do you live in a different country than the dealer?

perhaps your battery is not charged. Try using the cig lighter cord to your car and see if it charges longer or if it says charged right away. Or try alkalines in the alternate pack.
Also could use exchange program to reload the firmware via usb.
Also read the thread under this one. Same issue and fixed it.

hi i live in perth and the dealer is victoria about 2500 kms away and it took more than a week to get to me so it will take 2 to 3 weeks for me to receive a new one ;-( the machian seems a badly built ctx the arm cuff track has plastic missing from a bad mould and the cuff lock is very loose and it is a new version 2016 onwards with the new seals i paid 2400 au dollars and thats a lot for a machian that was not clearly checked leaving factory very bad

just be very careful on buying electronics that come from malaysia singapore and that direction i no first hand because i have lived there for 7 years all there labour force is unskilled indians or some chinese they pay them nothing so ge very little in return and this is what happens i only found out when i received the ctx its written in small on the box and would not have bought it if i had known , i will be making a call to minelab au in the morning and will try and get the serial numbers checked ,, you just dont know it could be a knock of ;-( will post a pic of the arm cuff rail in the morning thanks to all ;-))

if there is any body that has the same problem please post it the more you advertise it the quicker they sort these problems out ;-))

the only thing you can do is to send it back to be replaced.

May be a dumb question, but do you have the coil connected and plugged in?

Also, with that injection molding flaw, I'm guessing you would be happier with a replacement unit anyhow...I'd make the call.

yes they contacted me this morning and are arranging it to be picked up, when i dont no ???? ;-)

when i called yesterday they said they are all checked at the factory,,,,,, and then they sent out my one has with 3 flaws ''it doesn't work'' the injection mould problem'' and the cuff lock'' ,, i would compare this ctx to a new 911 in the detecting /car world ,,would they give you a 911 with 3 floors from the factory never so why send out a very expensive machine with all all these flaws , i cant express enough this ctx3030 is{ malaysia made} not ,,,,USA,,, built as you can see MINELAB NEEDS TO GET THERE ACT TOGETHER OR THEY WILL LOSE CUSTOMERS FAST ,,,, thanks all for the advice ;-)) AS TRUMP SAYS MAKE THINGS IN AMERICA I CAN SEE THE POINT CAN YOU ;-))

You certainly are driving your agenda pretty hard........registered today and then give Minelab both barrels.
Resolving it with Miners Den might be a good first option.
Sorry but I've seen this pattern before.

i was told today from mine lab Adelaide sa that the plastic injection mould mark is on all ctx3030,,,,, is this correct any one have this on there machine ,, also they are picking up today and sending a new one monday overnight star track service by air so should have tuesday will keep all informed how that works out,,,,,,,,,,,,, thanks to all for the advice ;-)) ps mine lab workers in Australia are very helpful and are trying there best and the same for miners den Australia thanks to them to ;-))

yes i did that and they forwarded it to mine lab now its gone and the new one is on its way , this was not a old machine it was never used and had three problems i expect new condition, working,, and now ,, or my money back not in three weeks i paid straight a way for a new product and got s..t i dint give the both barrels i gave the tank what would you do ,, ;-) thanks for your help will let you all know when the new one arrives ;-) ps miners den and mine lab where very help full and would buy from them again the malaysian factory qc is to blame s,,t
