CTX 3030 just shuts off when it wants???

I had too look way back to page for this post. I used my machine last night ans less than 5 minutes into the hunt it shut down. It normally happens right aound 2hrs. I did hunt passed the 2hr mark and it did not do it again.
I am heading out for low tide around 3pm for a 5hr hunt.

Hey Steve some people are saying to try alkaline batteries over the rechargeable, since yours seems to do it a lot can you try it out to see if it makes a difference today???

Thanks. But I am sorry that't not happing.I will not compromise because Minelabs has problems with there designs. My coil cover doesn't fit either. The center spokes do not touch anywhere's. The coil fills with sand and becomes a lead weight with no balance at all, so much for a well balanced light weight detector! I am not sure the sand is a issue with as far as affecting the detector like the GT or Excalibur.

Sorry about that, was not looking for you to compromise. If it is the battery voltage causing the machine to shut down then minelab may have had a bad batch, just trying to figure out what is causing it. I agree minelab needs to address the issue.

Not a problem I just want things to be right. I can't see the alkaline batteries making any difference. They start at 12vdc and are getting weaker every second of operation. Lion/lipoy are at 13.4vdc and are considered dead at 11.2 they don't drop voltage till the very end of the cycle. I have heard from a Minelab dealer they are sure whats up with the shut downs. They also said they are not answering any dealer inquires at this time only that its being looked into.
