CTX 3030 Internal Software Updates

Can anyone confirm that the CTX 3030 internal software (firmware) can be updated via USB? I see that the XChange2 software can indeed download updates directly from Minelab, but this is simply the software that runs on the PC. I was hoping that the CTX 3030 firmware could be updated via USB since this would allow Minelab to easily fix issues and even add enhancements or new features to units already sold. However I have not come across any verbiage in the CTX 3030 or XChange2 manual that confirms this capability.

I remember seeing that reference but I could not remember where - thanks for posting it Digger. When reviewing the XChange2 manual the description of the "Software Updates" on page 21 seems specific to the XChange2 software on the PC. Hopefully the brochure is more up to date than the XChange2 manual. I feel that with a machine as sophisticated as the CTX 3030 that the ability to update the firmware will be important. Do you recall during your beta testing that the XChange2 application did post updates to the CTX 3030 firmware (as opposed to simply updating the PC based XChange2 software)?

The XChange manual is in reference to XChange2. The brochure includes information on XChange2 and the CTX 3030. Good question regarding updates......... Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to say anything about the updates and how they might have been implemented during the test process. Not trying to be evasive. Just being honest. HH Randy

No worries Randy - I appreciate the information you were able to provide. It certainly does sound like from the brochure that software updates to the CTX 3030 will be supported, although I would have expected this to be discussed in the CTX 3030 and/or XChange2 manual.
