CTX 3030 Hard case?

Extra shaft: From dealer BigBoyHobbies.

Extra foam: "I just bought another pad from Plano"

I like how you put the Velcro straps in there. Did you just run that through the foam or did you affix it to the case?

They come with the case and are secured with screws into raised molded bosses that are part of each half of the case and are made for the purpose.

There are several different places they can be fastened down on both the lid and bottom of the case. There are slits in the foam to match those locations.

The lid and bottom are identical moldings.

I purchased this case (bone collector series) from Plano with an extra foam pad for the other side. Great case, well made (built like a tank), lockable, air travel safe, all weather(water tight, air tight, dust proof). The only thing is that the pictures don't give a perspective of how big this case really is. This thing is heavy & (at least for me as metal detector cases go) huge!

It's too bad it cant fit the 17 incher... Do you see any solution to that Altamaha?

Hi Gary:

I just did some measurements on the case. The inside dimensions are about 46 inches at its longest point and 16 inches at its widest point. If you use the placement that Parkgt shows in his post you just might be able to get your 17 inch coil mounted on the shaft, in the position where Parkgt shows his shaft with the 6 inch coil. I'm figuring that the length with your 17 inch coil mounted on the shaft/folded flat is about 40 inches. I definitely think that you can make it work if you take the 17 inch coil off of the shaft. I'm assuming that you would want to put both the stock coil and your 17 inch coil in the case. I definitely don't see a problem if you were only going put the 17 inch coil in the case. If you would like to get together and try it using my case let me know.
