CTX 3030 Hard case?

Not found a safe hard case for my new CTX yet. Like to take my machine with me while traveling/flying and not open the soft case and find my machine damaged. If we don't have a comercial hard case available has anyone cusomized one out of a gun case for example?

I would think a compound bow case would work if you modify the foam in it. shorten the shaft and either take the coil off or twist the shaft 90* Just a thought..

Might try a hard travel case for golf bag and clubs I have looked at them but not tried it

Just hire a team of body gaurds to protect it.

Might have to do some searching but i think someone on this forum makes custom hardcases with the foam cut out to fit your detector. Sorry i cant remember who it was so i can help further. worth a try.HH

A team of body guards? You'd have to feed them! A case... closed.
I like the idea of the golf club travel case. Sizes looks about right. Should be able to pack CTX with a standard coil + other necessities like another coil, charger, headphones, transmitter and toss it into the back of the truck without worries that something hard will land on top of it.
Having said that; I'll hold off. A little bird told me that Minelab Canada may be looking into a custom hard case so, I'll wait till I really need one - spring time.

Pelican makes different hard cases of different shapes and sizes or a golf case would be a option. I bought mine at a golf store.

I used a compact compound bow case, it works great. I even had room for pinpointer, gloves, headphones, wireless, finds pouch and a few other items.

This is exactly what I have been looking for!! I wonder if it slides around any?

It stays put very well - it's held down by straps and I padded the top shell with the foam as well.

I just bought another pad from Plano fo the other side of mine. Holds well with plenty of protection.
