I was wondering what the item is on the bottom left of your last picture.

It's the thing that looks like a miniature bobbin for a sewing machine.

I have found two of them and kept them thinking that one day I'd find out what they were.

Seriously, nice find! and yes it's hard to believe it's intact especially since digging with the ground so hard makes breaking stuff easy. The photo of Mountain man digging looks like an oil painting, nice shot!:thumbup:
