Cross one burglar off the list....

I've considered getting a carry permit, but being cheap, I hate to spend the extra $$$.
But it would come in handy as I would be able to carry in the car both in TX and when
I cross the state line into OK. Without the permit, I can carry in the car in TX if traveling,
but have to stow it away before entering OK as they do not allow a weapon in the car
without a permit.
So... so far I just keep it in the trunk in both states. But I really don't feel like I need it
too awful much when driving anyway. I mainly want it when I get up to my place in the
sticks. More for four legged animals, than two legged..
But as far as the house, I don't need any kind of permit to be able to use a firearm to
defend myself. And TX is a castle state.. Not a good state to be a burglar.. :(
I have a .40 cal pistol within arms reach all the time here at the puter. I'm usually in
the back of the house, so if someone kicks the door in, I should have enough time to
grab it if needed.
Like I say, a permit would be handy, but I don't feel it should be needed to exercise
ones 2A rights. I partially view it as a money grab by the various states. And being
cheap.. :/ Maybe some day.. One other advantage is less hassle when being pulled
over. If I have firearms in the car, and no permit, they have to determine I'm not a
felon, etc, which can take a few minutes. With the permit, you are "pre-checked"
so to speak, and they don't need to do all that. In TX, they know you have a permit
even before they ask about any weapons, as the permit is tied in with the drivers
license as far as their puters in the cars.

I've been considering it. Course I don't need one in the house and I have four handguns laying around, one in my desk drawer, plus a big dog.

Here while back a giy broke into the home of an 87 year old woman and the old gal was armed. Boy did he get a surprise. She smoked his butt in a heart beat.

I was driving my work truck home from a job. Two guys in a car came up beside me and was flipping me off and pointing for me to pull over. My cell phone was out of area and after a mile of it I had enough. I pulled over and got out of my truck and started walking to his car. The driver got out all hot then as he got closer to me decided he might have bit off more than he could chew. He said they were just messing with me. He said if he really wanted to scare me he would have used his 9mm. What he didn't know was I had my hand on Mr.Ruger. The passenger just stared at me not even blinking. He said he would be going to the city to pick up some girls. Once I got phone signal I called the police with all the info I could remember. I haven't heard from the police and it's been about 8 months ago. So keeping your pistol in your trunk is not going to help you when you need it the most. It only takes one time and you won't be digging up zincs no more!

They are here. I had a cop tell me one time if I had to shoot someone outside to be sure and drag him in the house before I called the cops. HAA.

be sure you get them to look at you if shoot. in the back they are no threat by the law. you could get charged in allot of states.

This guy, Joe Horn is one lucky SOB. He shot both of these guys in the back and got away with a self defense claim. Not sure either of them was on his property. I agree with you, KW. I'm afraid Joe would have been toast here in Virginia.

True. We were taught if they're running away from you your not "supposed" to shoot. But what if they have my detector? All bets are off!

Yea. Its probably a good idea to have a gun or two around the house. I bought a gun permit
to carry but never bought the gun. But my ex wife still hangs arouhd. Shes leathel I tell ya. Need
a permit just to have her in the house!

just shout at them that they drop ed the gold so they come back, then like my ccw instructor said shot to kill less likely to get sued.

So be it. I'll tell you a humorous story. Have a friend whose brother is a cop. One night he responded to a "peeping Tom" call. When he got to the house he found the homeowner around on the side of the house with a 45 in each hand and a man laying on the ground out cold. When the officer asked what happened the homeowner explained that the peeper had been spotted by his wife who was taking a bath and let him know. He then called the cops, pulled the two 45's out of his dresser drawer, went outside and sneaked up on the Tom who was peeping away and stuck one 45 in his ear and fired the other one into the ground. He said the guy had been laying there out cold ever since. HAA.

Bill.
