Craziest Thing You Have Dug Up :minelab:

A 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun next to the Pismo Beach, Ca pier about 20 years ago. It was about a foot down and after I rinsed it off, I stuck it in my back pocket and continued hunting. I figured that someone had thrown it off the end of the pier thinking that it would be gone forever. I started to feel uncomfortable about toting it around, so I drove up to the Pismo Beach PD and rung the bell. They answered and I told them what I had found and they said to slide the gun through the slot and then back away from the door. I did, and then they let me in and I explained where I had found the gun. I gave them my name and phone number and never heard from them again. A hunting buddy of mine found a gun on one of the Los Angeles beaches and also turned it into the police. He asked them about it later and they said it had been used in a murder and thanked him for the evidence. Metal Detectorists are good people... Nes.

I didn't find this, but a farmer I met found a femor bone tilling his garden that had been hit by a civil war bullet, and you could clearly see the saw marks on the top where it was cut off.

His house was 1/2 mile behind a battlefield.

This is very similar to how I found that spine bone. It too was also in a farm field except a pistol ball was inside it and this guy's farmland is the site of the biggest civil war encampment in my county. It would be nice if you found some more things to kind of give you an idea of the orientation of which direction each side faced. You never know. That could have been a guy who got shot and was retreating or anything else.
