Crafting the perfect water scoop

landman said:
Dave what about the bent handle makes this feel less awkward? Also how was the aluminum bent? Does the bend ever feel weak?
Hey Landman, Before when I had the wooden handle I had to push the handle way foward to be at the right angle to dig with the scoop. Now with the handle bent, the scoop is naturally at the right angle, and all I have to do is step on the back plate to dig it in.I tried to bend it with a electricians conduit bender, but it would'nt budge.I ended up using my torches to gradually heat it and get the bend on it.It seems to be very strong.Hope this helps Landman. I just could'nt deal with the weight of that scoop with that straight wooden handle,it just did'nt feel right.
Take care, Dave

Please tell me the exact name of the Pro Handle. I cannot locate it in the Brandon, Fl area. I have not been able to find it on the Home Depot website either.

All help is appreciated.

Found it at http://www.prohandle.com/ and the 'Home Depot' SKU# is 677-932

Thank you for the web site.

Home Depot does not recognize the sku#. What a bummer.

Maybe I'll just order online but Home Depot is faster & closer.

Go to your local Home Depot in the garden department and tell them the SKU# and to get you one or tell the manager what you want.
I talked with inventor and CEO, Frank Saladino today and was told it is just getting out to the Home Depot and any Home Depot that does not have it should contact the Atlanta office and request it (Home Depot head office). I was also told that he is looking into having Kellyco handle it too. I surmise the price will be going up if and once that happens, so I ordered mine today (sent check). Frank was very helpful and answered all my ? I look froward to seeing just how well the Pro Handel performs on my big scoop.

Respectfully,
Larry

I just realized I didn't answer your question. I like my handles even though they are heavier.

They offer the two angles to align the bucket for digging and retrieving and work very well .

I'm looking to try a ProScoop as a lighter option to my monsters.

I'm no great shakes as a welder myself, but they are still working after all the years of abuse they've been given!

Thanks for your asking,

CJ
