correct technique. question.

120 lb monofilament line with a stainless steel clasp on my belt for the scoop- left side and a similar setup on the right side with about a 6" play for my metal detector outfitted with a stainless steel eyebolt in the shaft. I can set the coil in the dug hole(dependant on waves and current) and use both hands on the scoop, not stress my cables as I beltmount my electronics. No target first dig, no problem. Don't have to worry about the plant foot on the side of the hole as the detector coil is still in the hole unless the waves are outrageous.

Well, I was expecting to get flamed by posting my message. Your response was a breath of fresh air and you do support your depths with a good argument.

Have you considered the Aquasound....I use one here in Australia. Your conditions would be perfect for it but I'm not sure if you will get any further depths with it. On paper and in your conditions, the Aquasound (high powered TR) should kill any VLF and have a 50% depth advantage. I can get about 22" on a solid gold wedding band.

Thanks for respecting my post....I didn't want to word it wrong.

Your problem now is seeing if any other detector will exceed what the Excalibur is currently providing for you...:stretcher:

Keep well,
Tony.

I'm really wondering if the Dual Field will provide consistent extra punch so I can get that extra depth more often. I'm hoping it will help with depth in the surfs edge between the Lane and the Wet Sand. It won't be more than a couple of weeks before I get my hands on the DF and give it a spin or two but it has to come soon before my Excal packs it in because of a leaky coil. Time for an overhaul and a set of underwater Gray Ghosts.(the house painter stepped on the headphones and broke them in half so they're held together with tape at the moment) I did hit a ladies fossil wristwatch at around the two foot mark about a month ago so the Excal is still punching deep, I'll try to keep the old style coil if I can because I have heard hunters suggest that the new coil is not as deep seeking.

Cheers Mate,

BDA:cool:
