Constant chatter & interferance...HELP!

I've got a 950 on the way from that Whites offer as well. I'm hoping that helps.
Thanks

Aaron have you received the 950 yet? I do think that you will feel better about your machine when you get it on. The DD (some) are not only susceptible to EMI but will consistently false when they first hit an iron target and it seems to me that the 2.5 frequency is more prone to do so.

No I don't. Chasia. If I didn't look I wouldn't know if I had the D2 or 9.5 on. The 9.5 is great coil don't let anyone tell you different. I like the coverage I get with the D2. I don't have to worry to overlap as much. I'm planning on using the 9.5 at the beach. I always wished the 9.5 mounted in the center like the D2 or 5.3. Rob

Thanks for input Rob. I sure like the 950.

No, I only sent away for the Whites offer last week. I dont expect to get it for a while yet. I will let you know as soon I do, I'm looking forward to trying that coil.
Thanks!

I read to where you have a 950 on the way.
When I first got my Vision, I went to an area and it was giving me fits. I tried the coil wire connection, fresh batteries, etc. I ended up going down on Rx, freq offset, and other tweaks which I can't recall all at the moment, and although I was able to hunt, it was still noisy. Didn't have another coil at the time. I even had to change the headphone frequency a few times. I spent more time tweaking settings than detecting then. It can be frustrating.
Then went to another area, reset to factory settings and all worked okay. I want to hit that area again this winter and see if it does it again. I'll take my small coil this time. And if I have to, I'll try another detector or two and see what happens.

Hi everyone, I noticed that this is a very excellant website. Hi Beep! (your bieng followed!!). Hey Chasia, mine beeps if I move it or touch it too! Do you know if that would indicate a bad coil? At this point (as Beep could tell you) I'm haveing trouble with my V3.

@beep. I found a 43 wheatie on pinpoint mode which didn't show up in the coin program and I seen where it was laying FLAT on the bottom of the hole. You know how a coin leaves an impression in the dirt? about 3'' down.

The yard my house sits on was built on "PRE 1865" so you know there are some old coins in this soil. When I landscaped in 2002 I found 3 soda hutch style bottles, a privy with several Colbalt blue bitters bottles, safe liver bottles, Anheiser bush blue bottle and more bottles. 3 privy's are yet to be found.Unfortunatly my garage is sitting over them!!

Anyways, I'm doing all I can to figure out what the problem is here with this V3 before I decide to sell it or not.

TIA!
Silver

>>I found a 43 wheatie<<

Did you? How much is that worth?

****If the 1943 penny is made out copper, it is worth quite a bit of money, generally $10,000 or more!
The reason is that the 1943 copper penny is an error coin. The Mint accidently used the wrong kind of planchet metal when the coin was struck, but very, very few of these actually left the Mint. Unfortunately, there are plenty of fake 1943 copper cents floating around. Some were intended to be novelty items, and are just steel pennies dipped, or plated, in copper. Others are fraud attempts, where someone has taken a genuine 1948 copper penny and cut the 8 in half, making it look like a 3. Fortunately, there are very easy tests to determine if your 1943 copper penny is genuine.

I have found if I turn Down All Metal; And turn it down 5 Numbers from Normal which I (Think I would be, If I remember correct is 50) then go to Discrimination and start Turning it down 5 Numbers at a Time Going No Lower than (60) I can Hunt Anywhere With No Falsing---Todd told me this---It Will Work---You will lose a little bit of depth, BUT Very Little---I have found 7-8 inch deep coins Easily---I generally try to use the 950 Coil As I found Right off the bat that (I Think) it was the best of all the coils made for the V-3---After doing this I Fear no site---Before this change, That I talked about Above, I found I was having trouble hunting some Sites and Parks in the Portland Or. Area---I Have No Falsing At All Now !

Thank you very much, I will try that out tomorrow!

D W Then what you say to do or you have been doing is adjusting it,the V.Like we would have done the preamp, the AC and the DC on the DFX? Makes sense too. I know in cleaner ground I have very little problems with stock settings and running some places hotter yet ,get into EMI and more trash the V# sure gets busy, and I wasnt for sure how far to detune. Thanks for another piece to the puzzle.Cant wait to get outside with this now.I play mainly in Deep silver with fairly clean ground and have been doing well with it. Now to get back to some parks that my huntin buddy has been kickin my rear at with a old whites classic. Thanks Yazoo

What kind of results have you been getting with the deep silver program?
Thanks

I double checked, it was a '44 Oh well!
Thanks Jerry, I will keep a eye out fot those copper '43's!

At this one well hunted spot I hit I have found silver and wheats down at 11-15 inches. Gotta go slow though and was using the 10x14 excellerator coil. Was a football field in 1908 for sure. Yazoo

Happy T-Day

I rechecked that '43' and it was a 48. DANG, I almost fell of my chair when I read that!!!!! Well, my BP is back to normal LOL!!!!

Quick rundown on those '43 coppers. When they did the switch to the "Steelies" it is now assumed that some planchets (from '42) were caught in the folded seams of the large planchet totes/carts. Out they came into the coining process and created this true rarity. I've held a couple and what a rush!

Back when my daughter must have been about 6, I purchase a bag of 5000 "unsearched" wheat cents. Well after about 3 hours of searching, my eyes (and patience) had really been given a workout and decided to enlist the help of her young eyes. She was eager (especially after giving her a rundown on what some of the pennies could be worth) and told here that a '43 copper would help buy us a bigger house! We set up a work table up for her and began doling out pennies for her to search. That kid was really finding some decent stuff and she was very pleased with her own efforts! Early mint marked, the occasional '24D or '26S, and even one 31S were spotted by here young eyes. As good as she was doing...the "bigger house" coin remained allusive. (At one point, she came running up and said "Daddy...I found one!" I know my daughter and could immediately tell she was just funnin' with me and she knew it. Back she went to her treasure search, laughing at her failed attempt to get Dad excited.) Well.. about half an hour later, her she came. Tears streaming down her face. Could hardly talk. I knew she had found "something"! DADDY! I FOUND ONE!!!! There in her little hands was a '43 copper! Looking down at her, I realized that I had forgotten to touch base with her on one very important aspect of finding a rare coin...authentication! Out came the loop and magnet. Together we determined that this "copper" was actually a plated steel cent....I felt absolutely terrible for her. To this day...whenever something could be possibly "Too Good To Be True", She says..."Could be just plated Dad.")

Later...she asked if I had kept that penny. "Oh honey, I'm sorry....I accidentally through it back in the bag!". (It was just a little white lie.)

Thanks for the great info. and story!

Hey DW I lowered the Disc to 75 and it calmed the V3 right down when I got near the building, although I still cannot get it to be quiet near houses.
Thanks

I have had the same problem with the constant chatter and interference, I adjust everything, changed programs and adjusted them as well, still the constant chatter.
I was at the point that I just wanted to throw in the towel, in fact I started cleaning it up and was going to put it on E-bay.
I removed the coil cover and found what I thought might be the problem, Dirt and Moisture.
Wiped the coil off with a clean towel, went into back yard and turned the machine on and PROBLEM SOLVED.
This may or may not be your problem but it never hurts to give my 2 cents worth.

It's a good 2 cents David. A bad coil gives the same symptoms. I've also found in those situations the band filter helps quiet things down. Rob

I dont have a coil cover, still waiting to get it from my dealer.
Thanks anyway!
