Posted previously that I have an Etrac and am satisfied with it but a few factors have me seriously looking at the Deus.
1. Weight. A hard life in agriculture has left me with back, hip and shoulder problems. Tried swingy thingy but too cumbersome.
2. Depth. With the 8x6 SEF coil I feel the older tech may be giving up some depth the Deus may provide.
3. Target separation/swing speed. After reviewing several videos it seems apparent the Deus is faster and better at target separation especially with the 9” coil.
Is the clip and charging of the coil that bothersome? Would prefer WS2 headphones due to full ear coverage over 6’s. Very windy we’re I live and the advantage of separate puck doesn’t seem that beneficial. Am I on base with my observations?
Any advice on how to set up the Deus in heavy, heavy iron I hunt in around abandoned farm sites? Something that mimics the Etrac in 2 tone ferrous? Over 90% of the time I operate on ground that has no current physical indicators of where things were. Like to hear the iron to pick up on areas of interest but properly identify it so as to avoid unnecessary time and effort. Although slow and problems with masking the Etrac is VERY good at this.
