has the image quality for commercial use when compared to the DSLR camera. There are possible storm clouds on the horizon for the DSLR camera in that the new wave of cameras like the Sony NEX-6 and 7 may eventuality replace the DSLR camera as we now know them. The Sony NEX type of camera is smaller, lighter, and does produce a picture of good image quality.
As for me, photography is a hobby and I use both a DSLR and a bridge camera. I will probably get nailed to a cross for saying this, but for the average person wanting to have fun and working on a budget, I feel that a high end priced bridge camera might be the way to go. The image quality is good for everyday family pictures, vacation pictures, or even more serious photography if you learn how to use it properly. I do think that the DSLR camera will produce a better image because of better designed quality lens, along with a better designed sensor. I am just stating my personal opinion and many will disagree based on their requirements for how they want to participate in the hobby. It is like asking someone who likes to drive a Ford, which is better a Ford or Chevrolet. Sorry, but I am limited in knowledge about photography. Kelley (Texas)
