Confused...

by accepting everything down to about -50 or 60 in disc, and using a single freq VS Best data or Correlate. I found in moderately mineralized soil the DFX seems to do the best in single freq (15 KHZ)
Also, dont pay too much attention to the VDI's or icons. If you truly want to dig the real deep older stuff, you'll learn how to read and interpret the Signagraph. Learn to use your ears MORE than your eyes too. The DFX is capable of some pretty good depths(not F75 depths, but pretty decent), just dont expect the targets to ID well, OR sound that good...................but it WILL get them...................
Frankly, too much lip service is given to depth. MOST coins are found at more reasonable depths (6" or less). If I relied on sheer depth in my cellarholes, and didnt give a crap about separation I'd not find much at all. Sure, some coins are at extreme depths, but most arent! Streak!

Today I hit a Merc at 5.0 signal was weak...jumping from a reading in 50's penny all the way up to a dime 80's....thanks someone had mentioned this to me.... helped today...

I would not wait too long for a small DD. The small coil that is available now is pretty amazing in both separation and depth.
