comparative study

I like using pi machines most of the time but there a place I hunt that is honey coated with tabs and iron. I have never owned a cz21 , but have an Excalibur, would like to know which is the deeper of the 2 , detects smaller pieces of good stuff and can discriminate out the iron and save most of the gold and coins . thanks

since the CZ runs at 2 frequencies and the Excal at 17 ( I believe it's 17), seems like the Excal would go just a tad deeper and maybe more in mineralized ground. Maybe some pros will chime in, I'd like to know myself. HH John

I don't know. I never hunted with an Excal, but a friend has one, and has done well with it. I use a CZ-20, which is permanently in the salt mode, and I have done, and get great depth, with it. Minelabbers will probably say that one is the best, and it may be, but I think it has a lot to do with knowing your machine. I do think the CZ-20/21 is a much more ruggedly built detector, if that makes any diff.
