Compadre mod.

At ,pro has never impressed me. I've had 2 of them. The cibola and vaquero both stomp it as far as depth and sensitivity. Now I can say as far as my compadre with stock 8 inch coil hits everything the AT,PRO DOES and I'll run it right next to an AT ,pro without any issues. Not going to a detector war folks. Just saying what I have seen . I could put the unit inside a whiyes dual field control box and make it water proof and go a tad bit farther with underwater performance. Or like my normal mods simply tuck the circuit board inside a set of grey ghost headphones .

Well for now I think I'll just leave mine as is. I think I should use the machine for a while and learn it before I go modding it. Lol
Only swung it a couple times.
I've amassed quite a few detectors in a short time and before I buy more or change what I have, I'm gonna get some swinging time in with them.
Compadre included.
Right now my newest one is the relic and have been itching to take that thing out more. But now that I have summer off from class and only have work, I should get enough time to swing them a bit!!!
Funny story when I only had the ace and the compadre, I took them both out and started with the ace, but then switched to the compadre and finished the day with that.
Not saying I find more with it, but somethi NH about the no having a display or something but I can disc out when I find something and it tells me what it is.
The Ace seems to get confused ot something I dunno.
I still like it for certain things, but for the parks and smaller areas the compadre is just more relaxing.

Simple is as simple does...in my case.
I love technology and also love to experiment and delve deep into the workings and behaviour of my detectors always looking for that extra hidden insight or behavioral clues that can get me to the next level.
My F70 with about a million different possible settings just blows my mind and I might not live long enough but I am trying to experience as many possible combinations as I can just to see if I can get even a little edge in my difficult soil using one over another.
However hunting with my simple little Compadre seems more like a Zen sort of experience for me and so relaxing and surprisingly fun when I do take it out on occasion.
One knob to manipulate, a small coil to maneuver...just me, that one knob, my thumb and knowledge already accumulated against the world.
The fact that it seems to amaze me and find great things almost every time I take it out is almost secondary...but definitely counts.

If modifying this thing can give any other hunter even more pleasure then this seems to be the perfect platform to try them on.

I find myself saying wow a lot when I use the comp 6" coil , not sure why I do say that maybe because I expect a one knob detector to not do what it can, not sure but yes have to agree a fun detector and for the price cant go wrong really
