COMPADRE and it's 5 3/4" coil

Just got mine about a month ago too. Its eaiser than my cibola. Even with the pinpoint button. Here is the best part you try it, you don't like it , you sell it for almost as much as what you paid for it because it a like new compadre?

I had not been MT since about 1985. Last summer I bought a Tiger shark it has a 10 coil solid I love it. Well my 6 year old grand son showed interest. so after reading alot and doing a lot of talking I thought why spend 50 to 69 for a toy. I bought a compadre for him. he is a small kid so it is a little heavy. I made a bungee cord sling for him and he is using it pretty well. Anyway When he was not with me I thought might as well try it out. what with all the good things I had heard about it. Now after not md for around 25 years and only about 30 hour mt this summer my pinpointing was a poor I had bought pistol pin pointer. The first thing I unearthed with the Compadre I put the pin pointer right on my target. After the 3rd dig I did all my pinpointing with the compadre. The whole coil is about the size of my hand. Love it I find targets 7 to 8 inches deep and very seldom do not find my target out side of my plug. Although Some time I do need to make the hole wider because my Target is soo deep.

As posted, there's numerous ways to pinpoint the center of the signal from a solid coil. With a bit of practice Xing the target, I've never felt a need for a marker dot and especially on smaller coils. However, whatever works FOR YOU in the end is what matters.
