Went to another colonial site I found this week, me, Mr. Lucky, and my detecting buddy, who from now own I will call JPS. Most of the finds weren't really something to brag about as they were worn. As usual Mr. Lucky found the Reales-both from the 1780's. He also found 2 of the US buttons(from around 1811). One was a cuff button US . All together I found 5 US buttons, One in really bad shape. JPS found an "RA" script, 2nd regiment cuff button-a really good find. All of the US buttons were pewter but the RA was brass/copper. I think all of the Buttons were from the war of 1812. We also found many musket and pistol balls. Only the better stuff is pictured.

Mr. Lucky isn't the only one that's lucky from what I can see! After 110+ inches of snow I'm dreaming of digging pull tabs. In the summer though, I have nightmares of digging pull tabs!

What is the one in the upper left, the black colored one? Looks like its got some fancy writing on it.
Nice stuff.
Did you dig alot of lead pieces? Weve been working a colonial site as well and mostly large cents are being found but lots of small lead pieces, look like split shot but flat on one side like they were cut there, or trimmed.

neil, when you mold lead balls you have a flat section where you pour the lead into the mold that you trim off used to mold my own when I was using a lot of black powder...
