Coins & Rings ..

Went on a marathon 8-1/2 hour hunt on saturday, hit a couple of beach & picnic areas .. and eventually ended up at our local 100 year old park. Each beach/picnic spot gave up a silver ring ... one is stamped Sterling silver - 12K ...black hills gold w/a small diamond. The other ring stamped .925 .. Pulled the mercury & two wheats out of a very stubborn park ... I dug my arse off for that dime. 107 clad coins totalling $6.79.

Today I went out to my buddies place, where earlier this year his wife turned a 1915 barber quarter over in the dirt while tilling for a garden. Did'nt find a single old coin .. just a bit of clad. Found some cool relics though. And some kind of weird medal or coin ? ? Anybody ever seen one ?

[size=large]that one strange coin is very very important. take it to wash. d.c. turn it where the c is on the north line up the straight lines with the monuments in sight and where the lines all cross is where you'll find the TEMPLAR TREASURE. :hot::rofl:
OR maybe it fell outa an alien's pocket. if they have pockets. or even coins.
really like that earthly ring. very nice.

I found out that if you spin the coin on a flat surface, the letters on both sides combine to say "good luck" .... like a lucky charm coin.

Nice going Dave :beers: at least you got some goodies and enough clad to recharge your batteries. If that big stone were real I think ol' Dave would be the happiest camper on this forum. You'll have no problem hitting 50 silvers before the snow piles up.

Ya, no kidding ! If that rock were real I could take a year off from work ... lol. We are thinking that the gold/silver ring with the smaller stone is very likely a diamond. As it is unlikely that they would set a CZ into a black hills gold and silver ring . . but I have been wrong before. Will let y'all know how that turns out.
 
Get it checked Dave..... but looking at that stone from many ive found rarely do they place that big of a diamond in anything but gold. Even ARA refinery only looks at stones in the gold rings. That good luck medal is COOL. Id never figured that on out. Whats it made out of? Doesnt appear to be aluminum.

Dew, I was referring to the ring on the right possibly being real. I know that the big honker set in the left one could not possibly be real. There is black hills gold inlaid in the ring on the right. That is why I figured it was our best bet. Either way .. my wife loves it !

Not sure what the good luck coin is made of. It cleaned up real nice like silver, but feels more like a nickel to me ... or one of those knock-outs from an electrical box.

Hey Dave.... Nice... Very Nice...

Everyone should learn a lesson here, almost everyone that hunts, hunt for a certain target, some like to go for the high tones, some both high and middle tones, but when you dig everything that has solid tones, you'll begin to dig a lot of surprises, and your picture shows what happens when we do just that... On the 1942 Merc... Look very closely to see if there's a one over the two, or a two over the one... the two over the one is rare and commands a higher price to collectors.

Really nice assortment of finds Dave. Now, for that token. Does it have any holes on the rim anywhere. If it doesn't have two holes where you can mount it on anything to make it spin, then try setting it on a large smooth area and spin the token by hitting it with your finger as you hold with one finger on top, as it is spinning, look at the token while it is spinning and tell me what you see, my guess, you are going to the the Mason's Monogram, or something that has to do with them,... Try it and then post it here and PM me. I'm very interested on what you'll see... HH everyone...

PS I dug a keeper that had a round token mounted on a round holder, where if you spin the token you would see the Mason's Monogram or symbol, very cool... If you looked at the token while it was not spinning, it look like a puzzle. So check it out.

Philo, I found out that the token was distributed by Ralston Purina back in the 30's and 40's when they made breakfast cereal. And yes it was at one time mounted so that it would spin in a way that the letters on both sides would read "GOOD LUCK" ...

And I will have a better look at my merc with a magnifier. Pretty sure it is just a typical dime, but you never know .... Thanks !!!
