COILTEK 10 X 5 VS 6" COIL

Thanks. I truly thought the 6" was concentric and no one responded here to the
affect that it was DD. That's a BIG game changer there now.

Hey glen3-88,

I think your comment of "why wouldn't the Coiltek be AS GOOD NOT BETTER" sums it up pretty well.

In talking to, and reading, users comparisons, there seems to be no definitive advantage, nor disadvantage. It simply comes down to personal choice.

We have to keep in mind, opinions are just that, opinions. They are not scientific facts, mostly based on personal, subjective, reasoning based on the individual conditions of the person rendering that opinion! They tend to be scattered all over the map for that reason.

That is why the BEST thing anybody can do when choosing equipment, is use THEIR OWN conditions as the basis for their choice! Their own personal preferences, detecting conditions, locations in which THEY will be using the equipment.

You mentioned a 7" coil, there are none available in that size. The current sizes availabel are 11" round (comes with the CTX), 6" round, and the 17" , plus the new 5x10" offering from Coiltek. All are DD configurations.

Best of luck in making your choice. Make it based on YOUR conditions, and it WILL be the right one!

thanks MI. My mistake on the 7". I should have said 17".
Will start looking now for one of the 2 coils. Heck, if I don't
like one I can always sell it and get the other.

would love a 13" concentric coil

as above a person can drive themselves insane reading who likes what, best tester of any detector I have owned is me after all I am the one who has to use it !!

A buddy of mine bought a 5"x10 eliptical. It worked well and found some good finds with it but it floated like a cork and so he sent it back. Hopefully that have/will fix this problem.-K

They didn't.
5x10 coil model 2 still floats but the holes are in the correct place for the shaft and they're the same size as the stock coil bolt from Minelab
