Coil Question

VaChris

New member
I have a Conquistador Umax with both the 9x8 and 12x10 concentric coils and I'd like to add another coil to the collection. What would you recommend for a relic hunter?

I think I'd lean towards the 5.75 inch concentric.

Great for sites that have lots of small iron bits that you may not be interested in digging. Can wiggle a small coil between the iron bits when looking for non-iron targets and not mask like a larger coil would.

+1 on the 5.75 coil, especially for the trashy areas. Although the coil is small, it gets respectable depth. Since most areas hunt are trashy, I use the 5.75 coils most times on my Tesoro's.

Chris, there are a heap of guys using the 5.75 Concentric now for just about everything, and it is really good on those old homesites and trashy places. I usually use the 9x8 on the Tj while I am rambling on new ground, but soon as I find a likely site I sniff out the trashiest spot I can find , change over to the 5.75. and work it real good, while getting a feel for what type site it may have been from seeing what I am pulling from the trash. The 5.75 will do the job!
