I have a free account with geocities. That is the place that I store the pictures before I post them. You can not post directly from your computer but have to have a place out there in lala land to post them from. Thus geocities---http://geocities.yahoo.com/home/---With this account you get a thing called File Manager. That is where the pictures go from your puter.
Now when you get your picture into your computer you have to get it into a photo program and shrink it down a bit, usually. I change the size of mine to 2x3 or 3x4 or so. Then when I save it I save it in jpg at its lowest setting. You will not be able to tell the difference on the screen and neither will we. This will make the pixel densety much lower and and make it load faster. If they are too big, those with modums won't even bother with them as they take forever to load. I use a program from---webopt.com- to optimize the pictures. That is make them smaller digitally.
After I get the pic the way I want it, I bring up the Geocities site and go to File Manager. At the bottom there is a few boxes that you use for uploading to geocities. Click on brouse. Go to the image, on your puter and click on it. Then click upload.
When it is uploaded, look in the file manager for your file name and click on it. If you did everything right, a page will come up with your picture on it.
This will save you some work. Go to the address box on the page and hilight the address. Right click on it and click "Copy"
Now you got the sucker! <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT="

"> Now go to the forum that you want to post the picture on and make your post. Under the message box there is a place for "Optional Image URL" Hi-light the http:// and then right clicl on it and click on paste. YOu got it!!
Preview the message and see if you got it right. If you did, click on post message. If you cut and paste, it will save you making mistakes with the address. I hope this helps.
I use geocities but there are many sites out there that provide this service at no cost. I just started with them and it works for me <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT="

Hope I didn't forget something
