Cleaning Coins with Corn cob media in a vibrating tumbler.

I recently started using a vibratory tumbler, the same as is used for cleaning brass for reloading, for cleaning my coins. I am using the Corn cob media that can be purchased at a lot of Sporting Goods stores and it does a very good cleaning to the point of feeling polished but without removing any of the patina of the coin when put into the tumbler. Here are a couple of pictures of before and after.

The coins on the left have had the excess dirt rubbed of with the fingers, The ones on the right have been ran in the tumbler for overnight. The corn cob media is softer than the metal and cleans very well without any scratching or abrasion of the coins and you can leave them in longer to clean the VERY dirty coins like on the right as much as you like.

You can see by the shine on Lincoln's chin that they have a nice polished appearance.

is this just for clad? if so I just fill my tumbler half full, cover with water, add some dish soap, and toss in a soap filled brillo pad, they come out clean and shiny after a few hours.

I use it for everything, corn cob media is just tough enough to clean without abraiding any surfaces.
