Cibola/Vaquero, sorting the facts versus...(long)

Like Ty said...VLF machines when in all metal or below iron reject can see through the dirt a little bit. Once you step it up to knock out nails you also start knocking out other things that shouldn't be knocked out til way up on into the disc scale.
Honest to goodness...I've had TWO Tesoro Tejons because I thought my first one was bad due to everyone saying they were getting 12-13 inch bullets. In this dirt here with the Tejon set at the O in foil to knock out nails...with an even or slightly positive GB (didn't matter) you were looking at 3-4 inches TOPS. And that was with a scratchy signal. You could occasionally hear a slight chirp and dig one 5 inches but no more in disc mode at that setting. To dig bullets just 5-6 inches I had to drop to all metal. The Tejon isn't the only one that does that either. I've yet to find a machine that was capable of doing well in it.
The CoinStrike came close to beating it. On its VDI scale, a minie ball will normally register a +22 or slightly higher on it. In this dirt they would register around +10 but to risk not missing anything you had to basically dig everything that was + numbers. I was actually able to knock out iron with it and reach down to bullets 7-8 inches deep in DISC mode.

I have a couple thoughts! I have read all of the post on this "Cibola/Vaquero-Tesoro mach. thing" Aside from a few of the folks who just do not see eye-to-eye on presentations, it seems quality could be an issue for Tesoro. I have been thinking about a Tesoro/SandShark ,for awhile, for use on the beaches here in Florida. I think ,now, I'll just stay away from that line of detectors. Perhaps if anybody from the Tesoro Co. is reading this will make an effort to us potential customers and justify their machines and their commitment to American desire for QUALITY. I realize that Tesoro has a lifetime warranty, But I really do not wany to keep sending my machine in for poor quality repairs. Tesoro, let us know if you'er up to that challenge. I don't mean any dis-respect to the Tesoro Co., I would like to see that they are aware of a quality concern ,on the consumer level ,and are addressing that issue. Great post everybody H/H and good luck!
