Cibola threshold

I was wondering why Tesoro put a threshold knob on the Cibola. I always thought a threshold was for the low "hum" in search mode. If it's a silent-search machine, what's it's purpose? Thanks......

You can also use it to "supertune" the machine, although I rarely see the need. I never use the pinpoint button either so what do I know!!!

you need the threshold to ground balance and supertune.
in the case of cibola only the 2th

Thanks, folks. I don't see the need to use pinpoint, either, as I use it like the Silver, simply Xing the target. Appreciate the advice!
