Cibola gb trim pot?

Thanks Robert, in my previous post I wasn't trying to imply anything negative, just wanting to know alittle about you. I am sure you are A-ok as Tesoro is a first class operation and makes top shelf detectors. The very few times over the years I have called the factory I have spoke with James,Vince, yourself (Robert) and most times some woman that I have always refereed to as the nice lady. Never did catch her name but she always was so cheerful and was a pleasure to talk to. Thanks Robert for all you do @ Tesoro and same goes to the rest of the crew. Steve.

***continuously opening up the unit to make adjustments can cause wires to break off componets or board ***
how true i know this after doing a gb mod my Cibola would make me dig down to my elbow, however after opening several times wires fell of the board,no more cibola,,
i think a one time adj of trimpot is all you should ever need (hindsight is always 20/20.)
or send a soil sample to tesoro and the will tweak it for you
If you know how to adj. internal GB Pot,fine , if you ask what to look for after you pop the lid,you shouldnt be in there

Or just mod the thing, if they break so much that you would be concerned with that just pay the extra money to have it set back factory, I don't read many stories about these machines taking a dump for no reason, and odds are the things that will go wrong first are the ones that aren't covered via the warranty.

AS you found out Tesoro uses rather stiff wire that can break off the solder joints after opening or after numerous flexing. Stiff wire is being used so it will stay bent in position.
The single turn GB pot can be very touchy, not much leeway to over or under adjusting GB with the trimpot. The 10 turn external pot gives you precise GB.

If your not handy, don't attempt any GB mod, let Keith Southern do it if you live in the US, and when he has time.

"....if you ask what to look for after you pop the lid,you shouldnt be in there"---How true. If you mess up, Tesoro will gladly take your $50 for a quick repair or more if you fry the board.
