Wow, I feel like every time I take a break from the forum I should start writing my own eulogy. 1. I have not left the company. 2. The Golden UMax has been obsoleted. 3. Tesoro has taken HUGE steps to reach out to fans and customers alike to gain more perspective on what they want. 4. We are also tired of this industry being driven from the top down, meaning the manufacturers shouldn't push their expectations on the customers. It should be the other way around. I've said this before and I'll reiterate again. We should all be smart consumers and stop relying on what the businesses tell you what YOU should WANT. Start telling them. We decided to take a different approach to this new machine's development. I wish every company would ask the opinion of it's customers. Only YOU, the customer, can take control of what the companies are doing. You can do this by making informed decisions when purchasing. Ok, enough soap-boxing. I actually feel very flattered that you guy's care so much as to ask about my current well being. Thank you. Needless to say, we are working very hard, round-the-clock to put out the Cazador. We think this will be one of the biggest, if not THE biggest surprises in our company history.

and p.s., The trip to Europe happened last February.
Thanks again,
Nathan Jaeger
Chief of Operations

Nice to have a reply from you Waiting to see this New Detector Hope it is what you say it is! Sorry to hear the Golden is no more but it is what it is Hope to see it soon Thanks Nathan for replying

I better start saving my pennies again for the Caz.

That was very nice of you to check in , even when you did not have to. Thank you for just coming by to let us know something about the Cazador and the surprise it will be. Just waiting for the release impatiently like all the other addicted :tesoro: fans!!!!!!
Thanks again Tesoro MD....

I think you are on the right track , I hope i can afford the caz, I know some brands put out new detectors and they get very expensive like 2500, even if i liked something that expensive us poor penny pinchers would have to go without if the golden is now obsolete that must be a clue as to what it may be some kind of a TID machine with some very interesting features,

:cool:Thanks for letting us know something. There are 3 different types of customers on here. 1. The ones who are about to go to another brand....2. The ones who are just fine with the way things are now.........and 3. The ones who are waiting for the new Cazador to make their decisions.

A lot is riding on this new unit. I hope it is a good one and I wish the very best for Tesoro and all it's customers regardless of how all this turns out in the end. HH :tesoro::goodnight:

I would like to thank you for givins all of us a chance to help on this new detector. Tesoro is a great Co.... KEN.. IND.

Last year myself and a few others laid into Tesoro about getting their act together in regards
to what customers want. I applaud Tesoro for reaching out to us. I wish them best of luck
with the Cazador. I will be rooting for them.

Thank you Tesoro for the news regarding the upcoming Cazador. The anticipation for the release of this machine or even any news of its features is almost unbearable. I cannot wait! Nathan's comments about listening to the customer had me going back to the "feedback" thread when Tesoro asked for input on a new machine. He said Tesoro "listened" and that makes me speculate that the new machine will have some, perhaps even most, of the more common features that were mentioned in that thread like...

1) Tones with the ability to adjust where they break.
2) GB in both all metal and disc modes
3) Perhaps a simple large number only TID screen
4) many mentioned some kind of notch feature
5) Perhaps a "silver" hunter, with lower frequency

I know I shouldn't speculate, but these were among the more common requests...:smoke:

I for one would like to see a PI GOLD Detector, By Tesoro, on the lines of the Garrett ATX, Waterproof, and made for gold, there is a huge market for a detector like that, Minelab has had the Over Priced Gold detector market for years, I know,I've own a 2200sd, 3000, 4000, 4500, and a 5000. All made by Minelab, we Nugget hunters are always looking for an edge. I would like to have a Tesoro that is on Par with the rest. I love Tesoro's. Grubstake

Not asking for specifics, but will the Cazador be this year yet? Don't need any dates, but a simple yes or no would be great.
