Caught the glimmer of YELLOW at the bottom of the hole....

have started chasing a few lower hits.

Honestly not much choice at many of them because most decent higher hits are few and far between.

Nice finds and great story Bryce,Love the pendant.

I never seem to get good depth with my excellerator 8 inch concentric coil , about 5 or 6 inches is the best i can get on a coin. I have owned the coil for about 6 years now.
The thing i like about the coil is the ability for weedling out good targets from sports fields with foil and other bits of rubbish on. This coil is a keeper for me , a good coil but no way as deep
as the standard minelab coil on the explorer, my own tests on buried targets show a loss of about 2 inches or so on depth of a coin. Like bryce says this is a great coil in trash.

Awesome Bryce,Congrats on the gold.
What is the kilohertz on the concentric coil?

and could you scan the charm to see if the x-5 will pick it up.
Thanks

Thanks Harold.

I had to dig the charm out of my previous finds this morning...as this was an old post...but yes the Sunray X-5 hit it just fine.

Not sure on the kilohertz...as I'm at work...but you might get on kellyco's website and look for the info.

Hope you're doing well my friend.

Old thread, but I've lately become curious about the concentric coil and there's really not much talk about it.

I have an E-Trac and lately found a productive place, but there's lots of square nails and old iron there giving false signals. So I wonder if the CC coil might do the trick? As I've understood, the CC coils generally do a better job in identifying iron, I wonder if that's also true with the E-Trac?
