Hi Berry,

When I was looking at carbon fiber shafts, I found some on ebay. This carbon fiber tube is what I was going to use. It's basically 1-1/4" Diameter X 48" Length.

32mm OD X 29mm ID X 1200mm length 1.5 thickness 100% Carbon fiber ... $48.00 + 20.00 Shipping

Carbon Fiber Tube - ebay

which 32mmOD or 34mmOD carbon fiber tube do you use?

Hi harleybilly,

I did not convert my ATX to a carbon shaft. But if I was, I would use the carbon tube with the 29mm ID to be able to slide over the ATX small diameter shaft that is attached to the coil.

I did not want to modify the original shaft that is attached to the coil by cutting the shaft to protect the warranty. I already had my coil replaced once under warranty. And I wanted to protect the resale value if I choose to sell the ATX.

For the top end of the carbon shaft that would slide into the control head, I was going to use a couple of eight inch lengths of ABS or PVC pipe slid into each other to make the diameter large enough to fit snug into the control head.
