I personally found it adds a bit to the weight vs the aluminum and even putting the arm cuff as close to the controls as i could it was longer than i would prefer

Having said that its way stronger so i guess thats the trade off. If you want optimal ergonomics the stock shaft is probably best you could also drill the carbon fiber if you prefer to
