I found this in the morning. It's my first carbine sling buckle. It still has leather on it, what's the best way to preserve the leather.

Buckle was the Batwing,go back
and search it some more that batwing could be there also.
No there are no markings that I can see. Thanks for the advice on preservation.That is a spectacular find! Does it have any markings?
As far as preservation, I would let it dry well then give it as much Neat's-foot oil as it will absorb.
