Can someone explain why no discrimination?

Just a question since I do not have a CTX as of yet. My observations and also stated by Andy Sabisch was that the E-Trac works better and other Minelab machines as well with some discrimination. I know as it has been stated repeatedly on this forum the CTX is not an E-Trac but it still uses a form of FBS for its operation. Would it not be logical that the CTX would benefit from a modicum of discrimination? When I run TTF on my E-Trac I base it on the relic mode and disc out 01-31 on top to offset iron wraparound per Goes4ever's setup. When using the Combined mode on the CTX would not it be helpful to do the same? Just asking for future information.

martygene - Do you mean a screen shot of my disc patterns? One is just disc'd 28 on down (Fe) and the minimal disc in the lower right corner is basically the same as Diggers screen he posted in another thread.

Evan - Looks like Digger is saying the same thing regarding ferrous coin and disc:

Digger said:
Lots of variables to state anything definitive..... but when I run in a modified Coin Program with Lo Trash or High Trash separation, I prefer to hear all the signals and let my ears sort out the good stuff. When I use Ferrous Coin separation, I get better results with some discrimination (most of the screen below ferrous 23), allowing the software to help unmask the goodies. JMHO HH Randy

Here is a screen shot of my minimal disc pattern, from exchange II. I am comparing this to the 28 on down (Fe) pattern to see if depth is affected. This is just preliminary as I'm just playing with patterns and am not commited yet - stll learning what the machine likes best.
