Hey guys, I have always wanted to make detecting vids but all of the cameras i get all suck and wont focus in on the coin and details of it when its in the hole or even in my hand. Wanting to get a new one soon that is reasonable in the price range. Let me know some good ones and there names so i can look them up. Thanks alot.

I don't know about video's, with my Cannon basic camera, to get a detailed shot just use macro with a magnifying glass.. hh

Mine is just a Kodak Easy Share CX7530. Has 5 mega pixels. I was using it to take very close ups of flowers and even the bugs on a flower and it has a setting for that. Came out great! It has settings for general pic taking, portrait, sports, night, landscape, and close up where the image is closer than 2'. Plus it has a great zoom. It was highly recommended to us by Steve's Digicams on the web. In a Google search just put in "Steve's Digicams best camera". We have been very happy with it.:cam:

I'm using a Sony DSC W290 right now.. It's got a macro mode, but actually for close up
stuff I prefer to use the full telephoto and stand back a bit. I can set the focus length
also, to have a better chance of getting a sharp image. Or use "auto" and takes me
chances.. The main reason I prefer full telephoto vs the macro mode, is I think the
images are sharper. With the lens on mine, full telephoto gives the sharpest image
vs the more wide angle lengths.. Mine runs from 28mm to 140mm, 35 mm equivalent.
It also does video modes, and will do 720p HD video.
Not saying it's the best thing out there, but you can grab those pretty cheap off e-bay.
I've got two of them just alike.. Paid $87+tax for the first one, and $128+tax for the
second. Both were like new.
One example of a critter shot with 140mm and standing back a tad..
The carpenter bee is not much bigger than coin size I suppose.. With the macro
mode on mine, you can't get ultra close.. I think 3-4 inches is probably about as
close as you can get, and like I say, I tend to get better results using 140mm and
standing back a bit. That setting can be used in video mode too.
BTW, the camera is 12.1 MP...
