:cam:Much sand movement here in CT.........many targets but no gold:cam:

Alex

I visited Mr.Bill last year at the cape to purchase a Babbs scoop and he let me play in his coin garden and my detector sounded off in the dry sand at 15 inches on a nickel.

The recent platinum ring was at least 18 inches down in the wet sand..Casper taught me a setting for my PI and since switching to it I can hear the deep signals that I might have lost in the old threshold noise.

I'm sure you know hunting up here in the Northeast we are not going to post finds like they get down south.. Our beach season is so short up here... I visited the beaches here in CT this year and for most of the year they were devoid of swimmers.

The group of friends I detect with all use PI's :)

Yep, $1500+shipping and the deal is, you get 1! Craig & Casper, in Max's defense I will say that his area REALLY SUCKS for a PI from the nuts I've seen there. I don't know what the deal is over there in VA beach, but it's FULL of little bitty wire and all kinds of ferrous crap. We don't really have that much here. Mainly nails from burning pallats on the beach back in the day and bobby pins. If I'm hunting a clean or intermediate surf area I can usually dig all. The Aquasearch is SCARY DEEP! I ran it at a clean surf area today and it was almost silent! Sanded up BIG TIME! It usually hounds out something!

I have two hunting partners that want them as well... Maybe I'll call Mr.Bill and ask him for senior discounts for us lol...

I understand completely and I'm not picking on Max or his choice of detectors.. I have a beach I can't detect because its infested with iron and a discriminating machine is called for there.. I hunt so many beaches that I don't even miss not going to this other one.

What I tried to say in my post is the PI is as good as any machine out there. I've hunted with it 19 months now and I love it. :)

I know the Aquasearch is deep Mr.Bill and I speak on the phone quite a bit :)

As a fellow CT resident I demand to know where you got the clams and dog:razz:
I didn't think places were open at the shore this time of year. I'm usually at the beach every weekend for low tide. You gotta clue me in to the place that sells them whole-bellies.
After a few hours in the cold surf, I sure could use a meal like that!

I agree Casper :)

Send me a PM and maybe we can hook up this week.. I plan on hammering the beach I found the latest ring on :)

I went back to that beach I brought you to where you found the heavy 18k band and to the right of the rocks I found a lot of old silver coins and a couple of old gold rings.

I have to say I'm glad a lot of non-PI users have a mindset that they are work and I shouldn't be complaining when someone says PI's find all the trash.. that just leaves the deeper older finds for me and those of us who use these detectors..

A PI isn't for everyone that is for sure and a PI won't work well in area's with a lot of iron it like some of the beaches down New Jersey way but they work just fine here in Connecticut...

I don't hunt the dry sand or freshwater, I'm usually found in the deep water where trash really doesn't come into play around here. I agree a discriminating machine would have a marked advantage over me but only in those types of hunting area's.

Before I forget... I don't have to spend over a thousand dollars on a detector and then have to modify it before its comfortable to use to post finds just as good as everyone else. I'm ahead of the game and not looking back :)

I think we are going to have to agree to disagree... I'm very happy with my detector. If I buy another detector it will be a Eric Foster machine otherwise I'll keep on with my PI and besides if I wanted to hunt more of the wet sand I would use the DFX.
