It says "SCOVILL MF'G CO. WATERBURY" It has a circle of dots just inside of the wording. No other marks such as stars. It is 1 or 2 mm bigger than an US nickel.

Look more like WW2 or later button.

WW1 button are thicker and more hump while WW2 or newer button are thinner and flatter with crisper details

look like an officer dress button
