Buried treasure found!

I still think you are crazy to be swimming with the sharks after dark, GH! I like you a lot Mate, so don't go getting your sorry @ss eaten by a shark.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

Paul you are a hundred times more likely to get hit by a truck or car going to the beach, than bitten by a shark where you live. I hate driving down to Clearwater on 19, but I love to hunt that beach. HH

Perhaps a bit off kilter, but tenacious! If they choose to swim with me, then so be it! At least I am not dragging along a stringer laden with bleeding trout, savvy? If I had fish on me, then I would be a bit more puckered! Every now and then the hair raises up on the back of my neck though and I kinda move in closer to shore. It's a little skeery, but I like the adventure! The Lord is my protector, whom shall I fear?

You're probably right, Mate. I like the excitement that comes with the risk as well and to be fair rip tides are far more dangerous than the sharks. I did the drift in towards shore thing the other day at Horseshoe, turned out it was just a big, old Barracuda. An hour later I was hunting one of the blowholes in the swimming area and if you get sucked into the underwater tunnel you can drown, that's more dangerous. I pulled a .925 surfer ring out of the bottom of the blowhole which was the only find of the hunt which was looking to be a total skunk. I would have posted a pic of this find but, well, you know.
We're probably pretty safe from a serious shark bite anyways, maybe a nibble but a bite is unlikely. A shark would get a taste of salty seadogs like ourselves and spit us right back out.

Cheers,

I like being the biggest thing in the pond (nearly). But even the alligator gar that frequents fresh water where Iive, has a MUCH better dispostion than a shark. He may be bigger sometimes but I will still be at the top of the food chain. I likes it because I can concentrate on loot recovery even in stained or dark water.

But...keep sending the pretty pictures of the oceans. I like to watch anyway!

Don't be so sure, John. They spotted a big, ole gator in St. Louis last year, figure it might have something to do with global warming. Those critters are on the move and might feel right at home in Arkansas.:look::lmfao:

Cheers Mate,

You won't catch me diving in Millwood lake or along the Arkansas River south of Little Rock for that very reason.

If I looted the oceans ANYWHERE, you can bet I'd have a bang stick. Even if not legal, I'd rather be illegal alive than dead-legal ANY day, donchaknow. It's kinda like those guys on Ultimate Fights say: "Everybody has a plan until they get hit." Having a plan is great, but once you are facing a creature like that, eye to eye, well, then you have to act.

Be careful. Nothing in the water is worth your life.

aj

By the way, sorry about your camera. Make 'em pay.

The only real fright I got one day was while I was detecting close to shore, in the water, snorkling, and a huge sting ray glided throught the water right in front of me, curious as hell. It came out of no where, or rather, I was that engrossed with what I was doing, I didn't pay much attention to the surrounds. Lovely creatures, stingrays, just don't like the look of the barb up close!
