Gotta tell you, I'd have seen to the dog, first.
My Vet would probably qualify as a 'dependent', on my taxes, but good dogs are hard to find! My 'Heelers' drive the vet nuts, as they are unlike anything else he treats, responsive to verbal, or hand commands, and seldom on a leash, or tab, yet cause no problems!
They are my 'home security' system, my friends, and my passion; when you win four or five hundred dollars, on a 'side bet', at a 'stock trial', with a dog that was six months earlier, 'incorrigeable', because she just did not like people, but, could put a 'mean' bull, in the trailer, in less than 90 seconds, where else can you look?
The dogs go everywhere I do; we have 'established', in many places, a different definition for 'service dog', than local law allows, out of their behaviour.
Furr's Cafeterias, here in Texas, allows 'service dogs', but not 'pets'; my logic with them was very simple, they will bite anyone I direct them to bite, and that constitutes 'service', in my book! The dogs dine with me.
According to them, they are now all 'full fledged' 'service dogs', at all of their locations!
Sorry to hear of your mishap, and hope you heal, promptly, but take care of the dog!
