Buffalo Hunting with the CZ-3D

I definitely want to dig them. I have 4 buffs and they all hit hi-tone. But these are nickels that I've detected with this machine. I should be finding more buffs given the age of the coins I find. I have 25 silver coins and NO buff nickels so far this year? That sounds fishy. I do have 3 V-nickels this year. I also got 5 buffs last year. I'm going to start digging more round PT readings to see if I'm missing some buffs.

I totally agree that all of those nickels should hit hi-tone. I'll wait to see what you find out before I decide what to do.

On second thought, since my machine hits round PT in enhanced and nickel in Salt mode, I'm going to start checking my Round PT hits in salt mode to see if it hits nickel, then dig. Sounds like a plan. I need to try it out.

Mike,

I have seen two different 3Ds have problems. (They weren't mine.) One wouldn't GB and the other couldn't hit something 1 inch away from the coil... no kidding. I tried my coil on both machines to see if it was a coil problem and in both cases it wasn't the coil. Even Fisher's have problems. Hopefully they fix the problem the first time. Good luck!

and cracked the LCD screen. I sent it in because after using the CZ70 for 15 minutes, the screen would discolor badly. Fisher sent it back, claiming that it was fine, problem was, they didn't replace the LCD screen. I guess they didn't turn it on and un it for a bit to check it.

After I called them and sent the unit back requesting that they check the LCD screen, they did & replaced it. I got it back & it worked great ever since. No, no bodies perfect not even Fisher, BUT, Fisher fixed it under warranty, which they didn't have to since I dropped the control housing and this is what caused the damage. It was carelessness on my part & they gladly fixed it at no charge to me. That was great!
