Boy I pulled a stupid stunt last night that put me out of commission for detecting for a few days...

I was changing the sheets and stuff on my bed and had a pile of dirty ones on the floor, caught my foot in that sucker, tripped and took a nose dive into my big oak dresser. Hit that sucker like a ton of bricks on the sharp edge, gouging a couple of hunks of meat out of my left arm and slamming my left rib cage to the point of nearly breaking my ribs, and bounced onto the floor where I sat for a couple of minutes wondering if I was stil in one piece. I twisted both knees to the point where it's hard to walk or even stand up. The pain was and is mind bending. My arm bled for a bit and it's sore as hell and I have it bandaged up..

Went to the doc today and fortunately no ribs were broken but they hurt just like they're broken. Everything on my body hurts everytime I move. Trying to sit down in a chair or get up out of one is a real bitch. Luckily I have pain pills for my long time disabling back injury or I would have really been suffering or made a trip to the ER to get some medication. So it's going to be chomping on pain pills and sitting or laying with a heating pad for a few days. Don't think there is a spot on my body that doesn't hurt. Can't believe it happened. Luckily I didn't hit head first or I would have knocked my brains out - what little I have.

Hope you heal well and get out swinging again soon, best wishes.

Uncle Willy, I did the same kind of fall several years ago. You say you will recover in a few days. I think it may take you several weeks to get well enough to detect again. It is a bummer, but as you get older it takes longer recuperate. Been there and done that, Best wishes, GH, Grandpa Don

From the land of the Bluenose...hope the recovery time is short me son. I'm sure all of us have taken a tumble at one time or another..........sober!

Get well soon Uncle Willy:)Take it easy.

You'll just have to read the posts of us youngn's as we go out to play!:poke:
Sorry to hear about your spill. It's not fun. I busted myself up a bit about 6 weeks ago riding my son's BMX bike. I did end up in the ER. Possible concussion. had a headache for a week and still have a sharp pain in the back of my hand. I won't be doing that again in a hurry.

I send you good vibes for a hasty recovery and glad to hear you didn't break anything. You are a Super trooper

Takes longer to heal as you get older
hope that you get well sooner.
Bad break for you !

I won't embarrass my self by telling how I missed the stepladder from the rooftop and somehow survived-I just remember that clouds CAN spin in circles.
Speedy recovery.

This sounds like something my wife did about a month ago before we were going on a road trip vacation. Hope you get better soon!

Sorry to hear about your accident, Uncle Willy! It sounds bad enough, so I'm sure you don't want to hear "it could have been worse". But we are all so glad it wasn't worse. Get well fast and keep posting.
