Yep.....that's the ad that I stared at for month's before I finally found the actual machine, laying under the Christmas tree. I was just like Ralphie in "The Christmas Story". I even lived in Indiana, where the story takes place. Not the same town though. Instead of going out into the snow to shoot a Red Ryder BB gun, I went out with my beautiful blue Bounty Hunter to shoot some coin's....lol! There was an old house behind ours that according to Mrs Peterson, the owner, was built in the nineteen thirties. I just knew that there had to be ton's of treasure buried there. Luckily for me, that year's Christmas day was a mild one temperature-wise. A lot of the snow had melted away, leaving only patchy snow and soggy wet ground. Perfect condition's for testing out my new 840. That day, I found my first ever mercury dime and lot's of wheat pennies, seven of which were in the same hole! Imagine the thrill of finding silver and a pocket spill on the first day out with your first ever detector! What a great hobby we share......
