Boost question...LTD vs F-75

One fiscal Quarter.........Something about they only bought so many of the new processors or Micro- controllers ......I really Doubt the practicality of upgrade ....(A) probably not a drop in replacement CHIP...(B)....pin out could be different (C) chip could have more on board virtual devices and ability to multitask in real time.....(D) business stand point they make more on a clean sell of new Gear ......versus the problems that could arise from to many fingers under the hood.....I made a post about ....I'm not a betting man but I believe these will be collector ITEMS....... you have been Warned .....ever hear the phrase " Get M While their HOT "

Either Way I think SANTTI CLauis IS comin early!!!!

Wow the way you put it here, sounds like they could be a nightmare also. If one fails and they got a limited amout of these "chips", well, your right, could be a collector item:yikes:,, unrepairable because of lack of parts?

Its is strange that they only are producing a certain amount of them, for a limited time.

By federal law all manufacturers are required to maintain replacement parts for 10 years statistically this could be 10% of total production another way around it is to just replace the unit with a newer version......

Also the fact electronically if it works the first 17 seconds it is generally good for life......minus abuse from being ran over by a tractor or chewed up by a dog and direct lightning strikes or acts of GOD...

FT five year warranty is A good deal... period!

I watched your videos... I've been experiencing the same exact thing in the Culpeper area. There's a LOT OF DEEP STUFF there that few people realize is there. The F-75 can hear it quite well in all-metal, but the ID Numbers aren't there. Very frustrating!

Have you figured out any way to simply discern iron from non-ferrous items in the Culpeper soil yet??? That would be good enough for me, as all I've been able to do is dig the nails with the good stuff... quite tiring to dig 10" for a nail, again, and again! I'd be grateful for any suggestions, especially since I'm scheduled for an outing in that area in a couple of weeks.

If Fisher would concentrate on that one "little" problem, and release a "Hot Soil" mode... or a "Hot Soil Coil" ... Oh man, WE WOULD ALL BE UPGRADING!!!

In one of the newer videos I demonstrate how by the audio vs ID readout. Key numbers seem to be 11-13. I think at the DIV most of my bullets and medium size (button size) brass, was reading 13.

Small pieces of iron will also ID in the 13 range, but you can tell them via the pinpoint mode by "sizing" up the object. Small iron will give a VERY small signal when you size it up (circle it with the coil) and bullets-buttons-knapsack hooks-ect, will give a bigger signal...say quarter to half dollar size signal, when you pinpoint it (pulling the trigger). It's not exactly fool proof but when I started to utilize it, I was feeling confident by passing on the very small signals and digging the larger ones. I dug a large coat eagle button at nearly 11-13 inches that sounded just "as big" as the bullets and buttons that were 5-6 inches.

Very similar to what I've been seeing. I've also noticed that if the target ID won't lock in, but it is consistently below 10, it can be good! Most of the iron targets seem to lock in on a fairly consistent number 10 and below (usually 8 or 9), but if each sweep produces a different single-digit number, dig it! Sometimes it fools me, and I get a nail, but these kind of signals have produced some DEEP buttons. I think I am running about 2:1 on digging nails to "good stuff"... not what I prefer, but it is producing results.

At a minimum, it is good to see that my machine is producing the same results as yours... I can't help thinking that there should be a "trick" to weed out more of the nails though.
