New member
Dear respected MD gurus!
What is in your opinion the best water/beach scoop (s) ? Can you post a photo if you own one or can refer to one someplace?
More and more I got the feeling that having good water scoop is more crucial than a MD itself.

Please shom the picture of the one that is the BEST !!!

Hi this is the scoop i use 3 mm perferated stainless bucket 10mm holes lots of support and strength bars (it takes some hammer) stainless pole with screw thread so pole breaks down for easy transport ie plane journeys this type of scoop usually one dig gets the goody out you can`t seem to buy a good scoop in the uk so we made our own.

i use this one from Reilly's

This is my favorite. Smaller holes in the rear and with speaker magnets. I removed the handle it just never found a good spot up or down on the pole.

Here's one i made for the dry stuff, from an old food scoop, i pasted some graph paper on it drilled some 10mm holes, works a treat..

Here's my homemade scoop:
I have since added a piece of metal on the rear for my foot to push the scoop into the bottom easier.
Works very well.

Cost?? About $20.00...........see ya mark

While i was waitting for my dry scoop to arrive by post.. i made the red one myself.. had a drill, and could not wait till i got my mail..lol.. then..use the bought one... now i am days away from getting my D-Mond head scoop from N uttall.. should be here wed... best?.. the one you have if you have no other!!.. shaka \OOO/ Mikey

I favor the duck bill type too.I use the Monster scoop from reilly's and it's a brute at 7 pounds but it's a great scoop. I use the lighter aluminum one for the dry sand. Got one of the new one's coming. Think it weighs 9 pounds and the basket is 10X7. Guess my arm is going to get a little bit bigger :detecting:

Just got a Beach Brute Pro from KellyCo, and let me tell you.....this thing is big AND light!!! Holy smokes Batman!!! If you can't recover the target with one scoop...then you have problems! Super strong handle, excellent drainage and superior American design! :usaflag:

The only thing I have to do is Dremel a little sharpness to its leading edge and we're in bidness!!!!

most guy's like mine!:surprised:
