Best, reliable detector <= $300?

I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseum over the years...so, my apologies for bringing it up again. BUT, I'm thinking about an inexpensive "backup" detector by a reliable manufacturer. I know...I'm asking alot for alittle...BUT, it's my usual modus operandi. Much TIA for any/all replies and HH. Stay well/stay on the treasure trail!

Since you have an Etrac, I would go for the simplex. It does what the etrac can’t do like go underwater, it’s lighter and it has a faster recovery speed. Huge bargain if you talk to a forum sponsor.
