Between a ACE 250 and a Fisher F2
 
Big 5 Sporting Goods had the Bounty Hunter Elite 2200 on sale a few weeks ago for $120. It is a real KICK-A$$ machine. VERY light weight, controls can be operated with the thumb on the swinging arm, For the money, I would say that is the most bang for the buck.

Still time to talk her out of it then. I tried an F2 when they firstcame out and was not that impressed but having tried a couple of others since, that would be the one I would go for on many counts. Better balance, more accurate pinpointing (it moves with target depth on the 250). Deeper and can be used faster. More sensitive. Much better target resolution. Works better on wet salt.

LOL, women change their minds all the time..........still plenty of time to make choice.
 
Sven,You should be happy she wants to detect......My wife won't she says she's not interested but she will study my finds under a magnifying glass.......figure that one out LOL.....hh......Dan
