best in mineralized soil for coins

Yeah. My Mojave has been staring at me day after day....
Haha but happy hunting to you!! Hope to see alot of posts on how you're getting on with it!!

Thanks to everyone who has taken time to respond. I must say, I am a little surprised. I went into this thinking that the Vaquero would come out on top.

AJ, I went back and looked at Keith S. video on the Mojave and it did not pass his clay brick test. He (sort of) suggested it might be the coil. It would be good to know your impressions of the Mojave and whether you get the same result from your brick test.

Has anyone tried a different coil (besides the 7" stock) on the Mojave?

Barry

Mine is getting dirty!

quick video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3bEyUQveZo

yeah I know I talk funny :lmfao:

and the only DD coil I have for the 5 pin Tesoro's is the clean sweep, only have Concentric's who knew  I didn't but they are all I use for park coin and gold hunting but my ground is easy so ?

I know I was moving the brick and there is a lot of crap in the ground which could have changed as I was moving the brick just wish I had went across the brick at the end but anyway test is make of it what you will as the conclusion, but for the price cant complain I recon.

took the Mojave for a spin in a modern park with some deeper rubbish aluminium for the most part it was very sparky on the deep stuff found a few coins but it was quite taxing, but hey this park is a F19 or CTX park for coins, found a spot with no deep crap and it works great..

not sure if its the coil or the machine that's whacking the deeper crap more testing needed with other coils etc..

so for a 1st spin mixed results but came home with a few $ so I am happy and like most detectors and coil combo's they have spots where they shine, next test a iron park..

AJ

Great job on the video AJ. Thanks for taking the time to put that together. Think that is the way I will go. If it doesn't work out, not out much and move along to something else.

Barry

thanks Barry happy to help where I can... for the money its not a big gamble and I see in low to medium coin sized trashy parks with that coil it does well, I think its made to be in iron but I will do a quick report on a irony park asap..

also put the 5.75 Concentric on and see how it goes with that as well and the old white 7" Concentric, then the CSC, it all takes time to work out how this thing ticks and while I test this and other machines I funnily learn more about detectors I have lots of hrs on and are at home in the cupboard.

think that's why I like detecting its simple and at the same time very complex its a paradox of sorts ..

anyway I am waffling :clapping:

let us know how you get on with the new detector

AJ

I look forward to your findings AJ!!
I plan on running the 7 on my outlaw too.
But you should definitely start a thread with your tests with the other coils on the Mojave!!

well that's it another place to test this coil on the outlaw

for me its all just a great excuse to go detecting :bouncy:

its interesting though the detectors I have big hrs on I know them and yeah I still learn things about them but I know their little idiosyncrasies and I do well with them but it wasn't always like that I had to learn how they ticked sure I read some stuff but nothing beats time behind the wheel..

so this detector isn't just another Tesoro and I am trying to work out in my mind what they made it for ? as in what sort of detecting and how they got to where they were happy to put it on the market , they have become very insular as a company and I am unsure if putting blinkers on is the best idea ? also just wondering who is working out their new electronics we know where most of the well known names are in this field, no one has come on here and said I was testing this machine and bla bla bla nothing it just appeared and now we are working it out anyway just questions I ponder :ranting:

just count your blessings you don't live in my head :lmfao:

really at 5.30 am there must be better things to think about maybe I will go meditate for 1/2 hr

thanks for listening !!

AJ

Haha.
Well I'd still like to hear how the Mojave performs for you with all the coils you have!!!
I'll be doing my own testing once the weather is better here.
But if I can hear your findings first that's all the better!!

hope that weather starts behaving

no problems I will post my findings with this detector and coils, it has me intrigued as it really is Tesoro's 1st offering post Jack and we know little of its origins

at 2.4 VF. The units are basically improved Fisher Aquanauts.
Mr.Bill, & Ty Brook did some tests years back with them in bad ground-it seems almost nothing hit deeper, on silver.
