Best hunt in 2010! Triple Gold!!! Silver!! (Plus, sadly, yet another cop encounter.) (LONG)

Yeah it seems that way like they're all stricken with terminal paranoia and everyone is guilty until proven otherwise. But there are a lot of good ones who don't have that attitude. I've had good friends who were cops and I know a few here who are great guys. I've met a few who should have never been allowed to wear a badge and pack a gun.

We would be geat friends in person. Same sense of humor. Pull my chain as often as you like, as long it ends up in my treasure chest!

Believe me, I thought about you when I dug the second and third gold of the day. Figured I was in for it after making that statement. I still find it funny that I can cry for months about finding only a very few, tiny gold items in 2010, and then in one day turn it into a good year for gold.

What am I doing wrong? BTW, I turn 46 in a few days, Bill. Easy for me to remember when you started now! Lots of silver floating around back then, hmmmm?

Chris

This guy was OK. After all he eventually let me off the hook, and told me to enjoy my day detecting. I would have ended the situation earlier than he did, but I tend to give officers the benefit of the doubt.

Very nice finds,,,WOW!!!! It dont get much better than that. Its amazing how much gold is in the ground just waiting for a pull tab digging old man to find. Me ,,of course.:spin:

I have had the police come talk to me before, but every time they was interested in the hobby. I think where one parks their car according to the building has allot to do with first impression from a cop. If your parked on the outer most edge of the parking area,,,it helps to show your good intentions.

That cop may have got a vibe from you,,,after the second gold item,,, you probably felt like you was stealing. Great Finds.

is a bright orange safety vest!! I started wearing one whenever I'm dirt hunting in parks, schools, etc. Most people see that orange vest and think you're out there working and just wave and move on. They are fairly inexpensive and can be found at most any hardware stores.
