Best book?

Any advice on books that discuss things like mineralization, modulation, theory, and technical stuff like that in regards to Metal Detecting?

Well horse,

I'm not sure there is a best book on detector info, but there sure are a lot of good ones.

Jeff Foster wrote a couple of really informative books on the MXT and DFX detectors, Charles Garrett has written volumes of super good info on detecting in general and Tesoro/ Jack Gifford's MDI (free) is hard to beat. However, probably the Best resource on "V" series super detectors is right here!

With a little diligence you can find an answer to just about any question regarding "V"series detectors. Just do a search for "Your topic" in the V3 section. Key words are important to the search engine, so you might have to try a few times to get your answer, but I guarantee it's there. After 4 years, all of the really important topics have been covered here. Rob, Larry and even some Whites engineers contribute reliable info on a regular basis. The knowledge base on this forum is astronomical with all the near expert users across the USA and even world wide.
Don't ever discount the advice given here, it is potentially the best you will find anywhere!

Thanks John. I really appreciate the response. I will check out those books. I am not having trouble navigating the V3i I just need to be educated on the purpose of some of the adjustments I can make. Thank goodness for the pre set programs. I'm sure that for the most part the presets will be awesome. I just really enjoy totally knowing my machine, I feel that this is a major key in detecting success!

Right now the the 2 best books to read would be the VX3 manual and the V3i on board manual. The VX3 has a good general theory section.

Rob I will check out that VX3 manual with the detecting theory section. I appreciate your time Sir, thank you.

I would love to look at Robs "reference list" just have no idea how to find it. LOL

Go to Spectra V3i/V3/Vx3 Forum and the second subject listed is "Reference Links". I wrote "Reference List" but it is actually "----- Link" Sorry about that.

Just ask what you need help with.

Hey Fellas thanks for the great info and for turning me on to the "Reference List" it rocks! I would like to thank all the people who have taken the time to contribute to the Reference List. Have I said how much fun I am having with my V3i! What an incredible machine!
