BDA is out of his Slump

As will happen when you have been surf pirating for several years you hit a slump; not just bad conditions but a lack of desire to even go hunting. Last year was a lot like that for me and I rarely got out except to do retrievals for people who had lost rings and asked me to find them. (I managed 2 successful wedding ring returns last year)
After Xmas there was no denying that I was getting fat because one of my main forms of exercise (Surf Pirating) had been put on the back burner, so I started working the wet sand again with marginal results. Eventually, the hunger to get back into the briney returned and I got the wetsuit on again. (more or less because it doesn't fit completely anymore because of the extra 40lbs. I am carrying atm)
The last 4 days I have hunted everyday and had good results and every muscle is now aching from constant hunting but I feel great about it and I'm heading back out right after this post. It's been pretty rough out in the surf lately but I think I am shedding some of those unwanted pounds I put on last year.:wiggle:

My take for the last 4 days of looting are as follows:

1 - Sweet Plat/18k gold men's band with Celtic design
2 - Comfort Fit 14k men's gold bands
1 - 14k men's pinky ring with 9 small diamonds
1 - 10k ladie's band
1 - 14k girl's friendship band
1 - 14k claddaugh band
1 - 14k ladie's heart ring
1 - Lord of the Rings junker ring that I thought was fun
Plus the obligatory clad and silver earrings.
I dropped my waterproof camera on the pavers the other day so I can't provide pics for all the tickets but I have to say that it feels good to be back.

Welcome back BDA...I know what you are talking about
as I too have put on some extra weight this winter. Not
40# but at least 20#. My wet suit is kinda snug around
the mid section too. Congrats on the finds and look forward
to seeing more in the near future. Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

nice pinky ring , i been in that slump to . my best find last year a 24 gram bracelet wash up in front of me with out using detector

Wow! Congrats on the great finds, but ya gotta tell me that black spot in the water picture isn't your head. That's some rough surf!

HH

Wow! Nothing personal but I'm glad that you are in Bermuda and not Southern California. You look like you know what you're doing with that detector! :clapping:

Nice to see you back again, and nice haul. We know that you took last year off because you wanted to let you 'surf mine' replenish so you could show us all the goodies that would be there. Nice job. Hope to see more posts in the future. I think we all missed not having your input on a lot of posts. Welcome back! :clapping:

To Goldak: I had a lot of help from some of the awesome pirates here on Find's. Thanks Guys (you know who you are),

To MattinMa: Thanks Mate, it's good to be back and I will continue to share my ideas on this great hobby of ours so long as anybody wants to listen.:nerd::huh::lmfao:

Time to get ready for todays hunt,

like all pirates when we hit port once in a while we just don't want to get back to the ship and start pirating again then it hits you like a brick i the forhead .... d&*% that was FUN i think i'll do it again....

welcome back. I guess a lot of us are going through the same slump. the crappy weather and lack of vacationers really puts a damper on things too.
