General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Bad deal and dishonest MIcfin

Thought MIcfin was a straight up guy on the phone and he said he would trade me his LIKE NEW dectector for my 99.8 % perfect detector .....it came dirty and well used!!! Then he said he would take care of it ....then ignored my emails and phone calls!!! This guy was a con from the start! Dont trust him to do what he says!!! Should have waited to see his detector first.

Took me 2 hours to clean up the detector with worn hand grip....heavy used coil and coil cover and lots of scratches...no way LIKE NEW as he said....you cant trust anybody on here....sad to say.

I can prove all this as I documented this with whites factory tech. Took pics and got witnesses.

Its a shame when people say they have a nice detector and you trade or buy and you send them your nice detector and you get a beat up machine in return.I've gotten nice machines off of feebay,got had off a forum that was suppose to be real nice machine,and received items missing from it and not in condition as stated.And like you talked to person on phone,sounded like a straight shooter.ITS A SHAME

I totally agree! I try to list every possible thing about a detector before I sell or trade it. That way there is no suprises. If I was to make a mistake I would either call off the deal or make up for it somehow. I have 100 percent rating on ebay and everyone loves my detectors(their words). I have had some dealings with several people and they were very straight up!!! & would recommend them to others like bryce in IL, steve in OK, Craig Z in MI & others.

I just wish people would say it like it is. I bought one detector about a year ago......"Pristine condtion". was the words used.....USED was the key word. Very much used and everything was very dirty etc, almost beat up.....How is the world is that....."pristine"??? Used is Used .....not LIKE NEW or pristine.

I guess I have to rely on recommendations and proof....otherwise no deal.

I guess sometimes you have to learn.....the hard way sometimes. I wont make the mistake again.

I have known Mickfin for a long time and have nothing but good to say about him. He's always been straight up with me.
 
Well...your coments are nice for MIckfin be they dont have anything to do with this transaction and he was NOT straight up with me! Mic you said you would take care of this in phone message today.....If you do.....I will say so on here....

IT WAS NOT to get a better deal! IT WAS because you said it was LIKE NEW....it was not and you know it. I have the proof! So dont argue the point and do what you said you would do.

If you dont.....then I will procede as planned.

To be fair, it was not beat up bad but very used to say the least. LIKE NEW does not have damage to the detector. and Definately NOT LIKE NEW.

and you dident send the code in the tirst place thats what got me pissed off and i wodent have gave you a BAD name on the feedback, You got more Extras thean me,
$500 Bucks + more and i got the short end of the stick??? But i want to make it right in youe Mind, I wil send out on the 20TH Mic
 
second paragraph, last sentence.. you can't trust anybody on here.. Well, thats total bull...I've bought from various guys, ( detectors and accessories) on here with out pictures of their products and everytime received what was described to the tee..I myself don't have a camera to post pictures , but my detectors are exactly what the descriptions say...And guys know that.

Sorry you had a bad deal.. It does happen, BUT DON"T lump all of us in the cant trust box..

I was able to finally see the V3 that was upgraded to the i that you traded Mickfin for. I also saw the Super 12 coil you sent him that has the cracked ear on it.

IMO, It's funny how you mention only the bad about your deal, but don't tell the entire story.

Knowing Mickfin, He will take the loss just to make you satified. That's the type of guy he is.

I also saw the upgraded spec 3V that Mic received and tested it, the stock coil would not perform as required, so I replaced it with another one and it worked fine, indicating that a bad loop was sent to Mic. Mic has made many trade deals on the net and he has always been up and above honesty, on the other hand he has been taken advantage of several times (as now) and never complained about them. I have dealt with with him several times for the past 25 years and have always received honest dealings from him. gldfind

that was a general comment....Im not saying that everyone is bad....just when you think you know someone....they suprise you and not in a good way.

You are correct on the crack on the ear of the coil....I saw pics.....I told him to send it to whites....send it back to me and I would take care of it. So, you dont know the whole story. What is your motivatiion for continuing this.....this has nothing to do with you.

I have heard nothing about the coil in question.......everything was tested at whites before it went out. They actually replaced that coil about 2 months ago so I know its just fine. Unless, whites lied about it...which I doubt.


All Iknow is that this deal was not done right. I was told that I would get a LIKE NEW detector ....it was NOT. Then, my emails were ignored and calls not taken. I waited 2 days for him to answer me. Then, when I called. him, he hung up on me.....What am I suppose to think and WHAT would you do? The Deal was not as agreed upon. I just wanted what was promised....no more no less.

Mickfin has said he will now take care of this and will assume he will and I will post that fact when it happens.
 
I am not sticking my nose in your business. All is in the eye of the beholder.. What looks good and new to me, may not be your idea of what looks good and new. Thats always been an issue in trades and most likely always will be. It just is !! So good luck, calm down a little, and work out the differences.. Your both good people........ You both have good in your hearts......

Again..not my business, and no judgement made here. Just a reminder that differences will always be present when dealing on trades and view points of opinions on equipment condition..

Sorry I didn't mean to hit a nerve or offend you in anyway.

I have absolutely no interest in this deal.

IMO, After physically seeing your trade including the super 12 coil it is not 99.8% perfect. But then again, that is in the eye of the beholder. Just seems like both parties have faults in this deal, not just one side like you have stated. I do agree, it is yours and Mickfins bussiness. That's all I will say on this matter. Once again, this is only my opinion.

I think I'll have to agree with level headed Elton on this, you two will have to work things out as it appears you have. I have dealt with Mick before and had no problems at all, and wouldn't hesitate to trade or buy with him again. No matter who is selling though, it should always be buyer beware.
 
As mentioned before....its nice you have nice things to say about mickfin but it does not change the facts.

James i would have traded with Richard At Backwoods Detectors But he dosent do Whites,Your stuff wasend perfect eather?? I sent the 12" coil off to Whites, But i will send the HP N the $100 Bucks ot the 20TH Mic
 
Good enough....I will be waiting for the package and will post that info on here when I receive it.
